Google Title & Description Character Cutoff Limits (2026 Rules)
Google calculates search snippet length by pixel width rather than raw character counts. Desktop search results display up to 600 pixels for title tags (~55–60 characters) and 960 pixels for meta descriptions (~155–160 characters).
